Outdoor winter weddings are few and far between in Winnipeg. It is very cold for many months but my goodness is it beautiful! The snow and frosted trees make the perfect backdrop for a winter wonderland.
Here in Winnipeg we have been in code red since November? It's been a while. Anyways throughout our lockdown I had 2 different styled photoshoots planned that I was so excited to share. The inspiration boards are stunning and they will happen at some point. But not being able to create had me in a bit of a slump. I wasn't feeling inspired to post on my social media, my new ideas were few and far between, and I just needed a spark to ignite my fire. So, within a week I had started to contact some amazing vendors and put together a styled shoot in the backyard. While trying to find a florist in such short notice, Prairie Pampas had reached out to me with interest in joining the shoot! I had been wanting to plan a shoot with pampas grass leading up to this so I had to take this perfect opportunity!
Once all the vendors and logistics were in place I waited for the day to finally arrive. The only tricky thing was, I was the only one that could be there. Taking this on by myself was nerve wracking to say the least, but I was so excited! So my fiancé and I loaded up the truck with amazing rentals from C&T Party Rentals, linens from Planned Perfectly and our AMAZING centrepiece from Prairie Pampas.
Not only was I creating and designing this space alone in the snow/cold, I was also the photographer. To say I got a workout that day is an understatement- I was exhausted!
My original plan for this shoot was a little different (you will have to wait for part 2 for that). So I had to use the original rentals I had booked for this table also. The goal- make them look different from one another with the same supplies. I think I achieved that! As soon as I saw the centrepiece I had a vision and created my mood board. The concept - Perfectly pampas with accents of burgundy and gold, stunning! Romantic boho vibes filled my @pinterest board and I couldn't wait to bring this vision to life!
The gorgeous harvest table was a must. I choose the Napoleon clear chairs (or what I like to call ghost chairs) because they fit perfectly with the original 'ice queen' design/vibe. The chairs worked perfectly with this table design as well since they didn't distract from the star of the show, the centrepiece. The accents of the gold cutlery, acrylic name plates, and the halo glass candlestick vases all from C&T Party Rentals gave this table an elevated look that was perfectly combined with the trendy pampas grass centrepiece.
Let me know what you think about this shoot in the comments below. I can't wait to share part 2 with you!
